I decided to go about this in this fashion before it got out of hand.If any mods are reading this please please delete all my other gun posts in other sub-forums.Ive been at all this for 20+ yrs.I have been fortunate to have been in a position to have never had to sell any of my guns.In that time I have acquired some interesting pieces. Most of my collection are German guns, and HK guns in particular.I got into focusing on them from the first CA G3 I bought yrs ago.I used to play alot more than I do now.Life, and my work schedule had been pretty tough on play time.I still enjoy collecting, and seriously enjoy building one off custom guns. All the builds you will see in this thread were totally built by myself. So without further adieux I think its time to start.First up is my Tanaka M870.When I got this one it was infairly poor shape. The barrel was wobbly from repeated hard racking(a problem with Tanakas)and the rifles overall condition was poor.I disassembled the rifle, and corrected the design flaw which makes the barrel connection to the receiver so weak.I trashed the etock bolt in favor of a PPS metal bolt and steel bolt carriage. The Tanaka M870 is quite literally nearly 100% RS compatible,so the next parts installed were Remington M870 action arms and loading arms.Remington M870 trigger group parts were installed aswell. The having been straightened out mechanically,it was time to work on the outside of it.ICS adjustable AR stock supported by a Mesa Tactical pistol grip adapter.Streamlight forward grip was also added.Combat Hunting MLOK handguard was installed with side saddle for Airsoft Surgeon shells.Irons are unknown, and muzzle brake is unknown

Are your running an elcan as a magnifier? I love those sights. Which I could find a cheap clone
Are your running an elcan as a magnifier? I love those sights. Which I could find a cheap clone
Yes sir it is.Elcan has good eye relief,a nice size objective lens and is 4x which is perfect for a magnifier.

HK G28DX.I've owned this rifle for awhile now, having brought it here from Japan.I got it to add to my HK collection. It came to me with a Prommy purple, and PDI barrel, and the Micro T1.These like the 417's have designs flaws ,but they can be overcome with a bit of work. The first design flaw of these is the chamber and especially the adjustment setup. These and 417's use a sliding wedge to adjust the chamber arm up and.The chamber arms on these have no provisions designed into them for any type of bucking tensioner. The sliding wedge allows for only limited chamber adjustability, which affects range and accuracy.Happily the setup this one came to me with allows it to shoot beautifully, though the range isnt quite where I'd want it.A spring tensioned TDC will be installed in this one later. The next issue is the bolt and buffer on these. These use a cast Zamac bolt. These bolts are thin walled to reduce weight, with a plastic buffer.Because of this the Gen1 rifles were susceptible to bolt bounce that caused double feeds.VFC attempted to correct the issue by installing an aluminum buffer, with a heavy steel weight inside.Fsirly risky move by VFC considering the bolts in these rifles tendency to fail. The OEM aluminum buffer also reduces rof.I remedied the buffer issue by installing a Hephaestus buffer with the weight removed to lighten it,and installing a Stark Arms heavy buffer spring.VFC also installs nozzle return springs in these that are absurdly too long.Removing return spring coils makes the nozzle retract back into the bolt much faster eliminating cool down completely. While I was at it I polished all the bolt guides, crosshatched the bolts nozzle well, and the inside of the upper also for fast cycling, reduce friction, reduced surface area, and lubrication retention. After all that not much left to do to finish it.6-26x50 35mm tube scope, and paint it and the T1 with RAL 7028.Cycling video here:New video by Michael Wells.

My dueling pistols.KSC STI's with Zeke Springfield Armory Super 38 slides.KSC was the first to make licensed STI pistols. These are examples of two of KSC's oldest.KSC originally made three operational systems for these. As far as I know the very first system had no name.Tue second models are sold as hardkick pistols, and the third are System7 pistols.Ironically enough the very first ones actually had adjustable chambers, the first ones I know of.The chamber is adjusted by removing the slide, and barrel. After the barrel is removed, remove the inner barrel. The chamber has a slider on it that imparts rudimentary backspin. When KSC rolled out hardkick pistols, they reverted to fixed chambers like other manufacturers.STI's with adjustable chambers are identified by there two piece slide release held together by an allen screw. The piston lids cracked and broke yrs ago on both, and I replaced the with Dynamic Precision 13mm lids.I also installed Zeke Springfield Armory Super 38 slides making them both into old school race pistols.Holster I picked up from a leather smith in Wyoming.

WE 416,in name alone, lol.I bought this one used, and was in fairly bad shape when I got it.Only thing WE about this one is the outside of the rifle, and the chamber.Angry Gun FCG and Speed Buffer kit.RA chromed bolt, bolt guides, steel bolt catch, and aluminum NPAS nozzle.Unbridged, cut,and recrowned Prommy barrel with ML Decepticon 70 bucking.Externally I added a milspec buffer tube with CAA stock and cheek riser.Trijicon SRS replica,co-witnessed with HK front and rear sights.Magpul forward grip, and BADD lever, along with Troy ambi mag release.Rail armor panels, and a Matrix muzzle brake completes the rifle.Mechanical work involved crosshatching the inside of the upper, and bolts nozzle well.Crosshatching imparts swirled fine lines the decrease surface area, and promote lubrication.I removed two coils from the loading nozzle return spring.Doing this eliminates cool down, and assits in cycle speed.I have two short videos that illustrate the difference. Before nozzle return spring reduction:New video by Michael Wells Now heres the result after nozzle return spring reduction:New video by Michael Wells

In keeping with the old then new exhibits, heres a real oddity of a dinosaur. My MGC MP5K.These are unique in how they operate. They are a gas and electric hybrid.Unscrew the cocking tube endcap, and install two AA batteries. The batteries are used to power the hammer and faux bolt on these, and gas is used for firing only.An extremely efficient design that allows these to be very long winded. It can use a wide varity of gases but because of its age,and fixed chamber I use only Flon gas in it.Range is poor by todays standards, but its still cool to mess with. For fun I topped it off with a Weaver Qwik point red dot.

Nice guns (as always). Have to ask - how many guns do you actually have?

Hmmm.I'm actually not sure.If I were to make a guess I would say close to if not 100.After awhile quantity becomes academic anyway. The important thing in something like this is the individual pieces.

Carbine length,VFC UMP .45.I needed a UMP for my collection, bit not just any UMP.After an internet search,I came upon a company called Dan Haga Designs. This guy 3D prints unique parts in nylon.I ordered his USC handguard extension, and ACR stock adapter.Parts came in and I installed them. After installation I found that the ACR stock cheek weld is much higher than the UMP stock, making the irons useless.I removed the irons completely, and ordered a 1" picatinny rail section from Alcobra Metals.Rail arrived, and I drilled and tapped its bottom for screws then attached it to the upper and top of the handguard extension. After all that I shot the entire upper in Duracoat black.Next I removed the suppressor attachment flange from the outter barrel, and brazed on an aeg threaded barrel end. From there I used barrel extensions to set the pistol suppressor length from the barrel extension where I wanted it.I then installed an ML CJ 6.01x280 barrel and ML Deception 70 bucking VFC has a knack for selecting nozzle return springs for their stuff that are either too long or absurdly long.Nozzle return springs that are too long can contribute to cool down venting.I began fixing this by removing five coils.I have enclosed a before and after vids for dramatization. Before coul reduction:New video by Michael Wells. after coil reduction.Room for improvement sure, but substantially improved none the less:New video by Michael Wells

TK M4.I bought this rifle fairly beatup.but it was mostly working mechanically. These originally used a rubber band for the nozzle retutn spring but had long since broke.Because KJW makes clones of these parts are easy to find.I bought a KJW V3 bolt and extra buckings from KJW directly.I found an old Cradle piston on eBay and installed that also. These use loading nozzles very similar to KSC pistols. The Cradle piston gives this rifle excellent compression. With a KWA/KSC cut ML CJ 6.01x360 inner barrel this rifle fires 32's at 3.2j,lol.After cleaning it up,relubing, and reassembly,I installed the Geissele handguard,BCM stock,Laylax magwell,Magpul irons and trigger guard, optics, and some smaller parts. After fitting,I disassembled the rifle and shot the receivers and handguard in Duracoat Diamond Plate grey.I really like this one alot. Its seriously fun to shoot. My only complaint really is the proprietary loader for the mags. After tuning the snappiness on this is phenomenal:New video by Michael Wells

VFC 417 Premium or DX version.I drug this one back here from Japan towards the end of last summer. These were offered in extremely limited quantities shortly after the 417 gbb hit the market. These are IMO more coveted than the G28DX version for two reasons Firstly the receivers,12" handguard, and cocking handle are all machined, and secondly only 100 were ever made.If you zoom in on the pic of the forward assist you can see the machine lines in the upper. These come appointed from the factory with the same external parts for the most part as the G28DX.Oversized trigger guard, bipod, forward grip, rail covers, rail mounted sling loop, and buffer tube sling loop. The previous owner installed an H&C Machine steel bolt,NPAS nozzle, and Stark Arms buffer spring. It also came to ne with quite a few extra parts, some being rare.Mechanically these are Gen1 rifles.I have fairly extensive knowledge on them and went to work.First thing I did was complete the work the previous owner started on the bolt.He had ground the loading nozzles flat for smooth operation.I polished up all the bolt guides, and crosshatched the bolts loading nozzle well, and inside of the upper, along with reducing the nozzle return spring length by nine coils. After the bolt work was done, cycling is smooth, snappy, and without cool down.Even in fullauto.I already own another 417 I transformed into an MR308.I use it for DMR work, and countersniper work. This one I decided to make into a patrol rifle. To this end I ordered the complete Gen2 417 chamber and adjustment linkage parts directly from VFC.While waiting on those parts to arrive,I ordered the 6x28 35mm tube scope, full function MAWL replica,Manta grip sleeve with pocket, cable management block,ML CJ barrel and Prommy purple bucking. After the Gen2 parts showed up I assembled everything and started testing. Not quite finished with testing, but I am optimistic. This one will be complete once HKParts get 417 stocks back in stock.

TM MK23 Tactical Neolithic Pistol Carbine.I decided to build this one after doing a magazine/drum conversion to my TM MK23.I found the pistol a bit unwieldy, and holstering problematic with the drum in it.I looked at pistol carbine chassis for this pistol, and found them all to be nearly all the same.I decided I wanted to go against the grain a bit,and go in a completely different direction.Digging around on Yahoo Auctions Japan one night, and found what I was after. The chassis my MK23 sits in is actually an ancient Marushin M93R pistol chassis from the 80's.I snapped it up,and waited for it to arrive. While I was waiting I also snapped up Laylax loading arms, heavy hammer spring, full Hadron single screw TDC,and PDI 6.01x300mm inner with ML Decepticon 70 bucking.I also picked up an LED conversion kit for the MK23 LAM.Once everything cane in I got to work.Because the MK23 is larger than the M93R,minor surgery to the chassis was required to shoehorn the pistol inside the chassis.I also had to "bob" the MK23 hammer to allow for clearance with the front of the wooden stock. The chassis handguard was notched for LAM clearance.Pistol fitted to the chassis,it was time to install the upgrade parts.Laylax parts installed without issue, and the Hadron parts were stupidly easy. After all was installed(including unbridging the PDI barrel, and spacer window filing, along with cutting down and recrowning the barrel for volumizing,it was time to tune the Hadron setup prior to installing the pistol in the chassis.I did it like this because once the pistol was installed in the chassis I would drill no hole in the chassis because with an optic installed it would do no good anyway. So I set the chamber up to supply max straight lvl flight with .36g pistol fires. 36's at 1.5j to a max range of 50m.Tuning complete,I installed the pistol into the chassis. As a finishing touch I removed a rail section from an ACR handguard I had laying around, epixied it to the top of the chassis, and installed a vintage Aimpoint MKIII red dot on top of that. All in all I think it turned out very well.

Thanks, that a pretty good analogy.Like I said earlier on after looking into chassis for these I found them all essentially the same.Seriously tacticool, and basically clones of each other.I looked at the Stridos kit,and I found it to be meh.So I went in this direction.
