It depends on what type of 9.6 it is and what the MAH rating is. I'm pretty sure you should be fine with the 9.6

Er, Possibly? In a well tuned gun with a ferrite motor, yes, I suppose a good, strong 9.6v could pull the spring.

I'd be better to replace the motor. If you're considering an 11.1v lipo, I suggest a 7.4v instead.

It has 4000 mah. And what motor is best? And why not 11.1?

No motor is the best, but there are many companies that make good motors.

11.1vs will damage your trigger contacts more than a less powerful 7.4v will. The 7.4v will still have plenty of power to keep everything turning.

The 11.1 will be perfect but without proper Shimming / corrected AOE you run the possibility of stripping the piston, or damaging other parts. 11.1 will also wear your trigger contacts faster than a 7.4 or 9.6 would. You could get a mosfet to protect the trigger contacts.

ATM I'm using a 9.6 with a m130 spring and it pulls it fine without a hint of struggle. I'm sure that as long as your motor has neo magnets you'll be fine.

For the record, battery doesn't pull crap at all.

9.6, if the motor is strong enough....yes...
JG M42 with 13:1 gear set, pulls SP170 on 9.6

It's all about the torque, the more torque the motor has, the less amps it will need to pull a certain load than a motor with less torque. I could probably use a small 9,6v ni-mh to pull the M120 spring through 13:1 ratio gears in my AK, because the motor, a Lonex A2 has lots of torque and draws relatively little current.

Long answer short: It depends on your motor really.

Well actually, with a powerful enough battery, you can make almost any motor pull almost any spring. Doesn't mean the motor will pull it well, but it'll pull it.

    Or smell a burning motor.

I imagine the brushes and windings in the motor won't like that very much.

    It does.
Using 11.1 in a stock KWA? Good luck.

What are you talking about?! I put an MS210 in my Crossman years ago and with a 14.8 50c it runs like a dream.

If it can't pull it with the 9.6, yes it iscrappy. As long as the lipo is about 15c max, your contacts should be fine IME. Be sure that your internals are tuned to handle it though.

Don't buy your batteries at evike or anything, as they are way overpriced. Check out hobbyking.com. very cheap. buy turnigy or zippy, I've had the best experience with those.

Try tigertacticalairsoft.com they have 11.1 25c 1300 mah for $10 shipped. I've used them for a year without any issues.
