What can cause a gun to not shoot every 4 shots or so?

What would cause a gun to dry fire every 3 or 4 shots? When it does shoot a bb, it is a laser and at perfect fps. It is still shooting air out the barrel so it isn't a compression issue. Are there any tests you guys can recommend that will point me in the right direction?

Change magazines and try an assortment.

Wouldnt a magazine feeding too slowly just affect full auto?

I wasnt when i was testing. About 2 seconds between shots. I cant figure out what it would be. Maybe the gun needs a sector delay chip afterall? Tappet plate?

That should be a more consistent issue and not a every 4 shot issue.

Occasionally it will be twice in a row but id say on average it is every 3rd or 4th shot.
It couldnt be the small amount of overspin doing this, right?

Unreliable feeding can manifest in semiauto if your mag follower is binding against the track, or if the follower shape does not promote proper bb doublestacking. I have severe feeding issues even in seconds-delayed semiauto with some very poorly designed G&P mags.

yeah but ive used these mags before and they've been fine. There arent too many AUG mag makers.
