Well, I'm getting into airsoft with prior knowledge. I used to play paintball, myself but I decided to play airsoft because of the realism. Now I have a budget of $200. I prefer M4's and M40 style sniper rifles. Any ideas?

King Arms m4s, any of them. If you want to spend a little less, JG m4s.

*sight* I mean it doesn't suck, but if you have cash, get better.

I don't have anything against them, but if I haven't used one I can't justify recommending one.

That's true. But yes, the ICS are great guns. Just please don't get a Lancer. You will be outgunned by others. Just try an ICS, JG, or KA.

Edit: the gun you linked is a great beginner gun.

Actually I normally would not reccomend a spring sniper on your budget, but APS now makes a M40 sniper rifle that I believe is VSR-10 compatible... Not going to be great for a starter but it's unique. And there's a few upgrades you could get being it's $140 and with a couple extra mags you could do some upgrades. I'd get a M4 though like marine said, KA

But it's internals that matter and they aren't great.

Hmm, they aren't? I know Javelin Works is a fairly new to the Airsoft world. Saw they had nice external quality guns, Didn't know what the internals where like though.. Are they better than the Combat Machines?

Probably not, my friend had one, had a wiring problem, stripped gear, blew his motor, cracked air nozzle. He got it in july and that's all happened since then. My G&G is still going strong since April. You tell me. Lol

I know you mentioned snipers, if your new start off with an m4, i would go with a reliable gun like a G&P, im not sure if you could find one in your budget but most G&Ps should do well and stay reliable.
