Hey everybody this is my first post, and I need help deciding which gun to get. I have a budget of 200-250 for the gun, and 50 for upgrades. I play field, and would like a gun to be able to compete with my friends 500 dollar scar ( just a hope ). I've been looking at an Sr-25, but am open to suggestions. Thanks in advanced.

Welcome to the site. What type of gun do you prefer, one with rails or not, etc? Perhaps a little more information would be good to help you get the gun that suits you best.

Rails would definitely be nice. Also, something a little more long ranged would be nice. Full metal, perferably, and upgradeability is a good thing. Lastly, something unique would be fantastic.

Also, here is a list of minor wants.
    Ris
    Good quality externals
    Look awesome
    Stands apart from the crowd
    Easy to work with (internals)

    Someone? .

    Okay so field guns:

M16, not very different but you can buy with rails and customize to your liking, metal, long barrel.

M14 EBR rails, metal, long barrel, can be upgraded, a little difficult though.

Aug. rails, metal with some plastic, long barrel, easily upgradable.

Do any of those interest you?

M16 looks good. Know a good brand and some upgrades?

    Thanks I'm getting an m16

I've decided to get an m16 style airport gun, any recommendation? My budget is 100-200, I have 100 dollars for upgrades. Full metal, easy to upgrade, and ris are wants. Ris least important. Ahead of time!

    -TBB
    -New bucking
    -attachments
    -motor
    -battery
    -gears (maybe)

The rest you'd have to ask someone else.

Ok thanks. Do you know a good scope? Should I even get one? I play at a large mostly open field.

Well if its open I would recommend a red-dot like so: http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=31445

Not exactly that sight but something like it.

Grip, laser, MagPul trigger guard, MagPul motor grip, sling, mock suppressor. That's about it.

Dboys guns are great for the price, but I sure hope to God you can shim. Lol. Their shimming job is comparable to me putting on a blindfold and ODing on some type of drug and then proceeding to shim the gun.

Things that gun needs for sure:
    -New piston head o ring
    -new bucking
    -New air seal nozzle
    -Metal spring guid
    -Metal Bushings.

A TBB can wait as can a new motor. If you want to replace the motor, get a high torque. Lonex, AMP, and SHS are good motors to choose from. The Lonex a1 is a faster version of the Lonex a2. A little less torque, but pretty fast. I suggest polishing the gearbox and correcting the AOE, too.

All these prices are rough guesses:

    SHS 7mm Bushings ($7)
    SHS Spring Guide ($8)
    #14 O ring ($0.50)
    Lonex nozzle ($5.50)
    Lonex 70 degree bucking ($3.5)
    70D Sorbo ($4.50)
    Neoprene Rubber Sorbo Protector ($1.50)
Shims ($7 per pack or so)

Let's try to watch the double and tripling posting guys. If need be, use the edit function to add to your previous post. There is very little need to ever double post.

Ok guys, one last question. I'd like to give it a desert paint job. Do you know any good tutorials or have any experience with this?
