I've been looking into getting a WWII style GBB 1911 and found the WE Full Metal 1911 which is a vary close facsimile. But I'm not sure on the quality of WE's products.

WE is meh, KJW will last longer for the price, but unfortunately WE is the only brand that makes 1911A1s. I think KWA is coming out with one soon though, I'd wait and get that.

I saw that one, but passed it up because of the orange barrel. I guess I have some decisions to make. Thanks

The whole barrel is not orange, just the exposed tip, and it's just paint.

Relatively easy to remove or cover, should you want to.

Or cut the barrel flush with the barrel bushing and refinish.

TM and WA also both make 1911A1 models. In fact, WA makes or made just about every era 1911 with all of the minute changes from one to the next. If you do some digging, you can probably turn up a Sergeant York special or something. Check the big HK shops. I usually start with WGC and UNCompany for the biggest WA selection.
