Guys,

Got my tax refund and I am in the market for a new gun. Narrow it down to two, VFC Avalon series Saber or Calibur and Krytacs Trident series.

Need your opinion on both guns, both has mosfet installed.

Ive said on many posts before that i just got the Krytac Trident MKll SPR and its a monster out of the box! It reaches out to 240ft completely stock! The internals and externals are rock solid and the hopup and bucking are one of the best on the market! I know VFC is a very good company as well but the Avalon series is too new to tell right now so maybe other people on here can help you with that.

I'm leaning towards the Krytacs just because of all the stuff you have said but I like externals of the VFC more and on my field I want to bring something different all I have seen are Krytacs.
Well depending on your budget you could always change out the hand guard easily and also change the stock on it! Basically it all comes down to which you like the look of better. If you go with the VFC you could probably put the Krytac hopup and bucking in it! So either one is a great choice.

There's a very good reason for that don'tcha think? Probably because they're very solid products and don't give the end user very many problems. And keep you from having to spend extra time and money on upgrades like you would on other guns. Just something to keep in mind. People buy Krytacs because they just plain get it done!

VFC guns have arguably some of the best (psst, no G&P vs VFC please) externals, but the internals are consistently sub par for the price. In particular, their pistons are easily stripped, and their gears have very tight shimming due to their self shimming concept (they just stuck springs on the gear axles).

Krytacs have fantastic externals and internals, and also have a mosfet. The stock motor has neodymium magnets (albeit on the weaker side), with approximately 16 tpa. This makes for some killer trigger response for a stock aeg.

If you want to get into teching, get the VFC. If you want to keep the gun stock, get the Krytac.

Hey guys I've been playing airsoft for a couple years off and on, but haven't gotten into it as much as I am now. I am looking for some of your opinions on what kind of gun I should get. There are two guns I'm sort of comparing to see which one I should get. My first gun I'm looking at is

Krytac trident mk2 spr: http://www.evike.com/products/63628/

My second gun I'm looking at is

VFC Avalon vr16: http://www.evike.com/products/69880/

If you guys would have any better ideas let me know. I'm on the fence with which one to get, my budget is around $4-500 for a gun, excluding attachments and or accessories for them. Thanks looking forward for your guys thoughts!

I bought the Krytac MKll SPR a couple weeks ago and it is rock solid internally and externally, it reaches out to 240ft pretty accurately completely stock! Besides the external attachments i put on i dont plan on upgrading anything internally until something goes on it.

Tackleberry That's a pts mag right? How does that work with your gun? I heard that it can have problems with certain magazines, are you having any trouble with the feeding bb's or whatever else?
Yes it is a PTS mag and you would be correct the magazine is horrible with my gun! It lobs the bb's about 30 feet and they just drop after that! Im very disappointed because i was hoping the mag would feed great. My KWA midcaps work perfectly though.

I heard the same thing about Hex mags from one of the guys I played with Saturday with his CRB MKII. I run KWA K120s myself and have never (knock on wood) had an issue.

Hmmmm, that's odd I wonder if it's just your gun, I've seen other people say the pts mags work great with their trident mk2... I am just gonna get some kwa,g&p, and amoeba mags though. Even though I love the look of the pts mag

Yeah it is odd because i did my research before I bought the mag and a lot of other people say the PTS mags work great, maybe i just got a bad mag! I also love the look of the PTS mags! Also when you get the G&P mags let me know how the fit and work because i was thinking of getting a few of them.

"I like the externals of the VFC more"
Pretty sure Krytac is made in the same factory VFC is. They possibly have a separate production line, but the externals will be very similar.
Krytac has some nice guns.
Their hopup is amazing.
Amazing stock hopup, like a W Hold but better.. Because it's free.
Barrel is good, much better than the JG ones.
And gearbox internals are all amazing.
Motor is awesome, I got about 25 RPS out of mine. Has a MOSFET in there.

I'd go for the Krytac. I know for sure that I'll buy the GPR CC from them when it releases. It'll be a good addition to my LVOA.

Not a deal breaker for most, but the back of the lower receiver of Krytacs are more prone to breaking when a sudden impact is applied to the buffer tube. It is not notorious for it, and it is not because of bad materials, it is because the buffer screw does not go into the spring guide like most M4's on the market, meaning there is less surface area to spread the impact across. However, with sufficient force, this would happen with any M4, and the ones with the screw in the spring guide may actually get a damaged gearbox shell from the impact as well.

Both will do the job well.
And while Krytac's externals may be a tad behind, I can account for their internals. A pretty gun's useless when all it can do is hang on your wall.
I think Krytac removed this feature due to their quick change spring system, or something along those lines. I may be incorrect.

Another thing to do is look at each companies exclusives. It may not seem like a big deal, but in the end, you will choose the gun you like most. (Internally and externally.
Appearance, unlike performance, is not very changeable. For the most part, the gun is stuck the way it is when you buy it.
Sure, change out the stock, grip, add a nice scope or red dot, or even cover it in rail covers. It will still be an LVOA or an HK417.

Krytac has the LVOA and Vector, and is soon to have the GPR-CC and Origin 12 shotgun.
VFC has the HK rifles and the Avalon. (Actually, some more. But these are the ones I assume you would consider.)
Krytac has the Trident.

You need to choose for yourself. Think, "Which gun do I like most? Will I be willing to sacrifice a few details for performance? Will I upgrade?"

Lastly, Krytac has amazing customer service. It is yet another bonus you get when buying their guns.

Best of luck.

The stock on my CRB came loose after a fall, but the washer in the buffer tube that the mounting bolt passes through cracked into 2 pieces rather than stripping the hole in the receiver. Easy fix and I ordered an extra in case it happens again. Krytac makes good stuff. That and a loose motor connection (after removing the motor 4-5 times) are the only issues I've had with mine after a lot of use.
