The G&G CM18 is essentially a polymer/cheap version of a MK18. The rail should be 9.5inch IIRC so it could be considered a Mk18, but it wont be exactly like what they're running.

You asking the wrong people if you gun fits your team's fancy - unless someone on here is on your team. Do they have strict rules of running a Mk18 Mod1? Maybe you should ask them if your G&G Mk18 would be acceptable... but just so you know, in general, a G&G "Mk18" is nothing close to a replica Mk18 Mod1. In order to be a true Mk18 Mod1, not only must you have the 9.5 RIS II, but you must also outfit the blaster with Block 2 accessories. A gun with simply a Mk18 RIS II is not a Mk18 Mod1.

Its a "MK18" but its not really a MK18(Very confusing). It looks like one, but without all the other kosher accessories it is essentially an M4 with DD 9.5 rail.

 

Just by comparing pictures of the gun to the description of the parts on wikipedia, you have the wrong rear iron sight and the wrong flash suppressor. To me, that means you have a Mk18.

As a suggestion, though, just call or email the guy who runs the team and ask him. Or just buy the two parts.

Those, along with the proper upper receiver, rail system, and barrel length, are basically what make a Mk18 a Mk18 as opposed to an M4.

 

@OP, your "Mk18" is just an M4. Your gun is even farther from a Mk18 Mod 0. To add to what Jeranhound said the optics you choose must also be Sopmod II kosher if you want to call it a Mk18.

 

well, i contacted my team leader and he said that as long as it is even barely similar, it fine. he said that he actually just modified it into a standard m4, so i guess we are not the "mk18 squad" anymore. so, from what i am gathering, i just have an m4, not mk18. which im fine with. but, since i have recently spent ALL my money on internal upgrades and have nothing left, can you name me all the parts i would need to make it an mk18? thanks to all of you.

There isn't really a name for this handguard, it's just G&G's cheap knock-off of a DD 9.5 RIS II so they cant get sued for copyright infringements.

 

Essential elements of a Mk18 can be had by a quick Google search. Try searching Sopmod Block II program...
