Hey everyone. I havent been on this in a while but i recently have been debating whether i should get the KWA M226 or their M1911 PTP.

The m226 has mags much like their M9 except their floorplate is different and the magazine catch is higher up. I was thinking i could just modify my M9 PTP mags i have now (2) by cutting a catch into them. I hear very little bad things about both guns. But if i went with the 1911 id have to spend another 40 bucks on one magazine. 80 if i want to get 2,.. I feel like i should get the 226 for magazine compatability, ammo capacity, and price(being it is cheaper than the 1911 by a few dollars.)

I just wanted to hear any one elses opinion on this. Im ordering it along with a new plate carrier and holster so shipping will be free. Any opinions are welcome :)

I'd honestly would rather pay the extra money for a TM gun, but the KWA P226>KWA 1911. KWA 1911s have terrible trigger springs.
im not into tokyo marui. Im one of those metal slide type of guys xD i know tm is amazing they really are but i just dont see myself spending that kinda money on plastic then paying for the metal replacements :/ i would if i had a lot of money xD frankly i dont :c

WE slides will fit on TM guns despite the fact that WE slides aren't the best..

If anything OP, get the KJW line of guns, like the Kp-07 or the P226. They are much more reliable, and way cheaper, which leaves room for upgrades, which includes the magic TM hop ups.

KWA is very overhyped by many stores. They are decent out of the box, but upgrade parts are limited due to the proprietary gas system. There are quite a few people who will tell you that KJW is the way to go, to get the best of your money. Plus, the KJW has real trades for the P226, thus why I can call it that.

Sorry, but I'm going to still try to convince you to get a different brand because I don't want you to spend $30 more than you need to. I'm sorry, but I might need to call in Archer for a little backup.

KSC has it's own little system, similar to KWA.

Airsoftermike is another good person to talk to. He has a lot of experience with KWA SMG line, and he will stand by firm to support your decision to get one, but will most likely agree that their pistols are not entirely "engineered to outperform." (He helped me avert my decision of getting the KWA USP.)

The KJW P226 is amazing. Get it instead of the KWA one. It's TM compatible, and has better externals and internals.
Oh and BTW, KWA & KSC guns are pretty much the same.

It may be true but ill take a look into it. Something i do like about kwa is their magazine feed lips are metal which helps me a lot with clumsy loading .-. So thats something i liked about my kwa M9. Lasted for about 5 years before my sisters somehow cracked the slide .-.

In a TM you woun't need to pay for metal replacements, because they simply do not break. A KWA is proprierary, so if something happens to it, you are stuck with what you can get from KWA itself. They know that and are rather expensive when it comesto replacement parts.

TM and guns that are based on the TM design, like the KJW often have cheaper internal parts, so if something goes south, you can buy them for nesxt to nothing. If you do not want to go the TM route, I suggest you take the KJW. Great internal quality, good externals, quality metal used.

The WE, that is another whole story. Their newest Glocks look stunning, have good internal quality and perform fairly well. Most of their other guns are just cheap pot metal that will break easier than TM's ABS plastic. Their performance is not terribly bad, but at that price range, you would have expected it to be better. Plus, they have a high rate of lemons.

Newest glocks? About how new? A better question would probably be, roughly how long have they been selling?

On topic: OP, I have a friend who owns the KWA m226 (among many other KWA pistols) and the KJW P226. He bought the KJW because something broke in the KWA (not sure what but I think it had to do with the trigger). The KJW impressed him enough that he doesn't plan on spending money on KWA pistols again. I haven't handled the M226 but I played around with the P226 and it's definitely a solid choice.

I mean the ones marked WE but not made by them.

I've had the pleasure, or rather displeasure, of handing both guns. You'd be better off getting a KJW. Cheaper, performs better, more reliable, and parts are easier to source.

I've handled a fair few M226s. One wouldn't fire straight out of the box. Guy won it in a raffle, asked me to show him how to use it (was his first GBB) and it didn't work. The 1911s also underperform for the price as well as being a major pain to work on when something breaks. Also, as shifty said above, when something breaks you're stuck with KWA parts and KWA parts only.
