uh i've been wondering, whats wrong with the original batteries in guns? how big are they? how many bullets can they shoot before they run out? are they good enough for about 2 times a month use?

most batterys tha come with guns are 8.4 1200 mah

general rule MaH= 1 shot.

some people claim they will damadge your gun, but I fail to see how. just buy a 9.6 battery from tsd, there only 30$ and will last you alot longer then a cheap 8.4 from china

The stock batteries that come with ACM guns are the cheapest bulk cells on the market.

Not all battery cells are created equal.
A good battery pack uses matched cells for ideal performance. ACM packs are hodge-podged together.
I've disassembled ACM packs to create custom packs and found as many as 3 different types of cells in a single pack. I don't mean different sizes or chemistries, but you could tell by looking at them that they were not made in the same factory (different colored insulator discs, casing material, dimple design, etc...).

Also, ACM batteries do not hold up well to even the slightest over charging. I've had packs ruined by leaving them on a wall wart trickle charger for as little as 1 hour too many. Smart chargers can help mitigate this issue.

Another problem with ACM batteries is reliability and durability. I've had some packs last 2 or 3 seasons, and some die in the first couple months, even using smart chargers.
I've seen wires pop off with little or no warning too.

In a nut shell, you get what you pay for, especially with batteries.
ACM batteries come free for a reason. No one in their right mind would actually pay for one...

I didnt know airsoft guns shot bullets
Not trying to flame or anything But I hate it when people use the term "bullets" for airsoft bbs.
Back to the topic at hand, Ive had good/bad experiances with stock batteries. Last one I had did fine and I used it for around 3-4months without any problems and I was playing weekly for the most part. The one before that I left on the charger like 30-45min to long and it died.I would suggest just getting a 9.6v battery, faster rof and better quality. I did and ill never go back to a 8.4
Also if you dont have one Id suggest getting a smart charger as well.

do the batteries do anything to the actual gun? or do they just die? i'm thinking of just buying the gun and getting a batterie later, cause it's a xmas present from my gma and i think my limit is $150

You need it to run the motor that cycles the gearbox .

I recommend cheapbatterypacks.com or eliteairsoftbatteries.com for batteries as they are good quality, have good (Albeit sometimes slow) customer Service and are cheap.
