I've been looking into the polar star and wolverine systems lately. Even after watching multiple videos and looking at several web sites, I really have no idea on what to get. I mean, I know p* has more parts to switch out and has been popular for a while now, but a wolverine is so much cheaper. I don't really care about realism. What do you guys think?

If you need more info, just post it and I will edit the info given.

PS. It could even be a aeg. I really just want a gun that does not break but still functions well.

P* gets my vote.
It may not be cheap, but it's almost like buying a Systema. You know you're going to get a very high quality product, there's parts everywhere, and lots of people know about them. I would not only feel much safer using a P*, but I'd just have more satisfaction buying a product that has been around for a while over than buying a product that's rather new. Just my opinion.

I recently got a P* and I got to play with a friends Wolverine lately. If you dont plan on changing anything and just want HPA but wont be tinkering away with settings Wolverine is your thing. If you do plan on trying to tinker with the settings and push your gun to it's limits, P* will take you leagues further.

Polarstar is a vastly superior design not to mention that they did not copy from an open source design and not acknowledge it.

The SMP only 20% cheaper too... Even less when you factor in the cost of an air rig.
LoL... Open Source means you do not need to acknowledge it...

The idea behind Open source is to allow people, or even to encourage people to make their own designs.

I swear I've never seen so many people w/ Brand Bias, and Fan boism with anything more so then airsoft.

There is more than one type of open source; in this case, the original developer asked that people point back to his design. When you even mention anything about it on their fb page, Wolverine bans you and deletes the comment. Not exactly what I would call trustworthy business practices.

Moral issues aside, there is no comparison between the performance between the two systems. For only $100 more, you get a far superior product.

Yes, but when you delete multiple comments pointing out the similarity between your product and the open source, you are not giving proper credit. Its an honor thing not a legal thing. The fact of it is, they way overpriced their product for what it is. They are smart guys and have a pretty good product, but it has too many disadvantages when compared with the Polarstar to warrant the price tag. I own both. I love the simplicity of the SMP, but the pure data doesn't match up. This isn't fanboyism, the fact is, Polarstar has a superior product and they do what they do extremely well and it is going to take more than Wolverine to challenge them.

I would be happy to dive into the technical details of why the Polarstar is superior to the SMP if someone so desires. On a purely surface level, the Polarstar FCU is so vastly superior to the SMP FCU that it is laughable.

Anyway, as you were.

Wolverine has a market... Its simpler then polarstar, It can fit into just about any gun (which matters for me because I have a 417, and polarstar has to be heavily modified to get into. Lastly wolverine uses about half the air as polar star.

Wait for the next P* product to come out. I can't tell you what it is, but it will be worth the wait.
