Replacing spring behind delta ring

Alright so, I messed up the spring that gives the delta ring pressure against the hand grip on my KWA LM4.

Luckily I have another spring from my old KA M4.

I've tried to remove the delta with a AR wrench but its not moving.
I don't have a vice and thats not helping either.

I'm thinking of ways to just slide the KA's spring between the delta ring and be done with it.

Any suggestions?

Be a man and remove it the proper way.

Jokes aside, Delta Rings and Barrel Nuts can be a PITA to remove sometimes. What I typically do, is set the rifle on the edge of my work bench on it's side with the entire outer barrel off of the table, with the beginning of the receiver still on the table. While holding down the receiver firmly, I begin to pull or push on my Delta Ring tool, depending on what I'm trying to accomplish. I do this with the receivers together, and attached by their body pins. It allows you to easily keep the body from moving while torqing down on the Delta Ring.

Sometimes if it is still being stubborn, you'll need to apply a bit of heat to where the barrel meets the Delta Ring. Some companies like to use Loctite or glue on these threads. If you need to apply heat, remove the inner barrel. No point in heating it up. A propane torch works well. Keep the flame moving; avoid holding it on one spot.

Could take a dremel to it.

But the delta ring is behind the delta nut.
So you would need a tool to get the nut off.

Could be wrong, but just took mine off with a AR wrench.
The piece I cant get off is the cog looking piece that sits in the front of the actual ring. Its the first piece you have to remove.

Edit: Yeah it's the nut. I can't remove it without a tool?

I use a vice grip on mine. Put a towel over it(the cog looking piece) and turn the desired direction.
Well the thing is resting inside of the ring itself, so it's incredibly hard to grab.

I might just be misinterpreting your instructions, can you clarify?

The little cog looking piece is part of the delta ring. The whole thing comes off together. First, pull back the ring towards the receiver to expose the cog looking thing. Put a towel over it and clamp a vise grip over it. Turn the desired direction.

It's very late so my description isn't that great. Lol.

Ah, I get it now, be back soon with the result.

Edit: It worked, thanks so much man, I had been trying for probably an hour to get that thing off, it was ruining my fun! I owe ya one man.

Again sorry for the threadjack.
