I am looking into getting an SMP rig and after some searching I just can't seem to find the answer to a few of my questions regarding SLP vs non SLP.

1) Do SLP tanks have a different filling protocol than non SLP tanks?
2) Do SLP tanks hold less air than that of a non SLP tanks?(of the same size dimensions)
3) Can you fill SLP tanks off of scuba tanks like I have seen online for non SLP taknks?

Thanks for the help guys.

1 - No.
2 - No.
3 - Yes.

The only difference between a SLP tank and a regular tank is the tank mounted regulator. The direct output in PSI of a slp tank regulator is around 300. Output in a regular tank, around 800. Meaning that if you try to put a regular tank on a SLP designed external regulator (like the Valken "build a rig"), you'll blow it up. Other than the on tank regulator, the tanks are going to be the exact same. And since you will be adding the second external regulator to get it down to the 70-120 PSI zone (aka what the gun actually runs at), it makes little difference what you go with. I went with a "normal" setup, so that I could use either SLP or regular hpa tanks on my external regulator. If you go SLP external regulator, then the tank regulator MUST be SLP too.

Make sense?
