Systema A to Z motor and SP150 issue

I recently upgraded my v3 gear box adding a SP150 spring, new piston head and new poison. I also swapped out the stock echo 1 motor with a Systema A to Z motor. The connectors have been changed to deans. My question is, when I fire the gun, it fired fine for about 10 rounds and then starts to slow down and finally stops. After it stops if I pull the trigger again nothing happens unless I wait about 15 seconds then the behavior repeats. What could the potential issues be? Thank you!

Did you check the tightness of the gears after closing the GB? Correct set up is gears should freely move (no swaying and smooth) with consideration of proper shimming. If the gears after closing the GB are somewhat "stuck" or hard to "spin" (sorry for my term, don't know the exact word), when you fire it, the motor load is too much that tends it to wear down and overheat. After a few minutes, it will work again then it will stop again. It will damage the motor if you'll continue this. Try opening dismantling and check the gears. It should move smoothly.

This sounds like an issue with your battery...try fully discharging your battery and then recharging it. Also, Systema Motors are total crap and easily waste battery power....you would have been better to go with a G&P M140 or higher motor.

Like Griffin mentioned, it could be a fuse.....but that may be unlikely if you rewired it....

sp150 will drain your battery. upgrade it to a higher capacity (mAH) 9.6v or use torque gears.
i run my DMR p90 on an sp150 on stock gears. i had to upgrade to LiPo because the torque motor was starving for power and NiMH couldn't keep up. it ran fine with 9.6v 1600mAH when i had torque gears.

Thank you all for the replies . Here is another thought to kick around, could the wiring (it is still stock) be heating causing too much resistance? I have a 9.6 4200mAH battery that I am using. I have blown a few fuses which are 20amp. As got the shims, I did reshim the bevel gear only. The other gears seemed fine. The motor when connected to the wiring and not connected to the gun spins strong with no drop off and no blown fuse. When I put the motor in the cage and connect it to the gear box is when the problems start. Could the stock wiring be the culprit?

Alex is right. You might also check the shimming on your other gears again just to make sure.If your running that big of a spring and the shimming isnt quite right your motor is going to start drawing more current than it would need to pull the spring back if the shimming was spot on.Your also going to need a mosfet for sure,if for no other reason, but to protect your motor.
