Hey guys. I'm making this thread to discuss improvements on stuff you own, things you would add or take away on certain items. To start off the thread, my first question stems from a current project. If you could put more than just three mags in your mag insert, what other kind of pocket would you add? My thoughts were maybe a multitool pocket or a dead rag pocket. I'm making a shingle ow so I'm just looking for ideas and feedback. Use this thread to shoot me your ideas and maybe they will come to life ;)

EDIT: below I have and will continue to post pictures of homemade projects. Some of your ideas may end up here ;)

CAT catcher (tourniquet catch)

Kangaroo mag insert

I think maybe a pouch that swings open revealing
a set of alan keys, wouldn't be hard at all to make.

It wouldnt. That is actually a great idea. like a 3-4 row molle pouch that flips out. Creative thought Isaax. I'll have to attempt that one.
Yeah it would be the shape of an admin pouch, the.
Sew in some elastic to fit each key.
Obviously you can't have every size, but at times I wish I had one of these, it would keep them so organized too.

Not a problem ace. The benefit of me making it is that you can get it nearly any way you want. Mine was made of an old uniform but any other things I sell will be made from cordura.

Here is my gear thread. It explains some of the things I may be able to make. I will post some of the things I have already made in this thread soon.

This is an informative/ survey bump for a kit I may offer. I am looking to make a kit called the 0per8ter kit :p

It would include all of the following [star(*) means may or may not be added]:

Real MS2000 with AA batteries

Laminated Pashto transliteration sheet for buttstock or admin pouch

Two 1x1in velcro backed glint tape squares

One CAT Tourniquet

*One Multicam CAT Tourniquet catch made by yours truly

3 Real IR Chemlights

One [or more upon request] Military tracking code sticker printed and cut to exact size for M4 authenticity

*Custom IR call sign patch [up to 4 characters] Can have IR background and white letters or Multicam background with IR letters

*MS2000 pouch in Multicam made by yours truly

*Counterweight pouch in Multicam made by yours truly

*Random Shemagh [earthtones]

Cost would come to around the 100-140 shipped mark depending on the presence of the starred items. Would a kit like that be useful to buy if you are working on an impression? Would it come out cheaper to buy it all together verses buying around the internet as well? Please give me your feedback on this. This kind of thing isn't just for me, it's for everyone. But I know if I was trying to build some type of impression I would love to find a kit like this that has a lot of the items I would need. Comment with feedback. Thank you.

New investment ladies n gents. No more using free time sitting in my shop lol. Anyway lets talk pouches. Anyone have anymore bright ideas?
I'm jealous... I really wanted to start up a business like this. I may actually do it and Crye mod uniforms... What kind of thread do you use? Where do you get your fabrics and such?

As far as IR/IFF patches, I want a double sided patch... One side coyote fabric with IR reflective, other side with black background and white letters.

EDIT: I shipped your battery by the way.

I can make you that kind of IR patch. I have IR material. As for where u get everything else, I made my first purchase of all the multicam materials on eBay of all places. After comparing to other sites it came out cheaper. I would Crye mod uniforms but it would require a lot of practice and experience with combat pants first.

Thread in the military world is size E nylon. I'm not sure what the other name for it is but there is another sizing system too. When I get home I'll post some reputable materials sources for you. There are some good sites out there but they are just expensive. Be ready to invest.... Lol. You'll want a pretty heavy sewing machine for all the cordura and webbing you'd be sewing.

Thanks, I'll let you know when it gets here.

I second this, I would need one for an sr25
I could do that, I believe I have a junk m14 lying around I could use for reference..

Crye mod my multicam pants?
Like I was telling archer, I'd need to own a pair if Crye pants or replicas to understand where the mod would go and how it should be.. I would also have to tear the pants apart and see them back together. That will take more time to get. One day.. Lol.

Fresh counterweight pouch. Much more planning went into this one and it came out much better than my rough draft originally seen in the official load out thread. Tell me what you think.

]Here is my stuff so far. I think it isn't too bad for first stuff.
I plan on making a much better chest rig though, using the knowledge I've gained so far. And more advanced stuff.
D-rings on the shoulder straps for one.

I can't take complete credit for it all, my mom is a seamstress, so I'm learning a lot from her. Techniques and the like. I do the actual work though. She's awesome. :)

That's pretty good man. It's always nice to have someone who knows their stuff guiding you. I see you made it to spec on the Molle. Are you gonna make more Molle pouches for it? I'm going to venture into those soon. But I won't be putting snap fasteners on mine. I'll likely just make the weaving straps extra long to be folded back under the Molle webbing and maybe I'll add Velcro as an alternative way to secure it. I'm looking to make 6142a replicas as well. Should be interesting.

Looks cool. Monkeys, I don't suppose you'd be willing to make some cadpat pouches sometime in the future?

Find me some Cadpat and I'd gladly do so. I have to invest in other materials but it'll likely happen one check at a time.

You know, I think you'd appreciate this.. But while I was deployed I had the privilege to work and talk to some Canadians and see their arid Cadpat in action. Just thought you might like that. Pretty laid back dudes..

Someone is selling cadpat cordura on ebay... its pretty cheap. Just bought 3 yrds by 66in for $25. Imma have oodles. :D

And about the snaps, I will probably do velcro in the future, I just needed to get it done, and it works. Gonna keep getting better!
