Hi guys,
quick question for all of you.

In my research of teching internal parts i know that stock wiring on some AEGs can be complete crap and that its recomended to upgrade the wiring
(depending on what you are trying to accomplish internally).

I know that if you switch out the green tamiya connectors to a deans connection that it improves the electrical current flow from the battery to the motor ( i dont know how else to explain that)...

So... Some AEG weapons (such as my M249 and Barrett 50) have the mini fuse box comnnection on the red wire going from the battery to the motor.

Is the fuse really required/nessassary to have on the M249?
Because after i have installed some internal parts the short red wire from the
tamiya connector to the part that clips onto the fuse tends to get hot after i start to fire off a few rounds.

I am wundering if it is possible to take out the fuse and wire the the end connection to a deans connector to replace the need for a fuse. To me it would kinda make sense to do so since from what i have heard from various players that deans handels the flow of electricity better than the tamiya's.

You can remove the fuse from the wiring, it's actually quite common and it will work just fine without it. Do I recommend it? No, the fuse is there for a reason. It can be compared to the seatbelt in your car. You'll probably never really need it, but if you ever need it, it can prevent fatal damage. The fuse is there to prevent the wiring and/or battery to catch fire if there's a short. You'll most likely never have a short, but if you do, the fuse can prevent a lot of damage.

Ahhhh, I never knew that!!!
Thankyou for saving me a ton of money in the future :)

Since the one red wire seems to be getting hot and causing both the wires on the battery to get hot
would putting both the battery and wiring from the gearbox to a deans connection help solve that problem?

I really want to get my MSM M4 and M249 back up and running for the wounded warrior game next month at the field i go to :)

Heating of wiring and battery is a sign of either excessive resistance in the wiring/under sized wiring, excessive power consumption, or a short in the wiring. Ideally neither the battery or the wiring should get hot. Excessive power consumption can be caused by a mechanical failure in the gearbox, or an issue with the motor, for example worn/dirty commutator or worn out brushes.

If its the stock 249 setup, my bet would be on the already-weak stock motor started to fade.
