Hey all,
So I have an A&K M249 which after some mods is now firing faster than the standard 16bps that the box mag can feed at. (I havent been able to get a bps reading as of yet)
Originally I got a "Higher voltage rated" form factor 130 motor off of ebay (is that even a thing?) to run a 9v battery (The standard throw away battery's) but well clearly that isnt the case as after just one game I thought the battery died but when checking its got loads of juice left so maybe I killed the motor or the battery just doesn't have enough current anymore?
Before it died on me it was feeding consistently and keeping up with the lmg but did notice the battery get rather warm.
Basically I am rubbish with electronics and the small bit of soldering is okay but don't want to go buying a bullgear box mag because they are pricey and that requires me to wire into the gearbox.
I was thinking of maybe trying a 7.4v lipo in it instead but not sure if this would even work.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to increase the bps of the box mag or any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
Update to this:
I have found that aftermarket Nerf websites have a good selection of 130 form factor motors that have been designed for either more torque or speed (depending on what you want) and are supposedly rated up to 12v.
I'll wait until one gets delivered and update here with my findings.
