ATACS FG works great in the south east United States... I have them and they work great! Now, most people will say, "ATACS looks like crap", and that's true... But once they get shot from the MED because they didn't see you, they'll realize why some people buy them...

 

Haha I feel the exact same way about A-tacs! I agree that FG will work great during the summer but IDK about when the foliage gets scarce. I could try to post a picture if u want.

I have a similar environment to yours, in MD. I run solid coyote in the winter or MARPAT woodland year round. In the summerhere, it is so dense it doesn't really matter what you wear as long as there is green in it. For summer, I would say MARPAT woodland, CADPAT TW, ATACS FG, or Kryptek Mandrake for the lulz. I personally wouldn't reccomend Multicam for anything outside of fall or winter because it is way too tan.

Wrong Multicam will work perfect. I live near pines and it works amazingly.

 

I play pines every game and run multicam, and it's amazing if you don't mind some of the pricier options.

 

I think some aor2 would work great in that environment.

Edit: It's unique too, and looks a helluva lot better that ATACs.

 

Multicam and AOR2 would work well.

im sort of caught between Multicam and A-tacs fg, im not too worried about looks, or price, just effectiveness... AOR2 looks a little too green to use in the winter, and I can only really afford 1 set

 

Then Multicam... No other way to go if you can only buy one... Works in almost any terrain.

 

(sigh) I guess you're right. I'll go with the Tru-Spec ACU in multicam then, it matches my chest rig and hat anyways. I'm just a little upset about no A-tacs. I love the stuff but get the same results that Multicam is more versatile everywhere I look. If anyone else can support A-tacs please speak up and post, otherwise, I'm going with Multicam and will order soon. Thanks y'all.

Yup, go multicam. I like it in the places we play- swamp, woods, fields- it works everywhere.

 

Not really. It absolutely blows in my area, I use it though, because it's what I have. Multicam is somewhat okay for most areas. Something specific to your area will work a helluva lot better. If you have a lot of greens, definitely try AOR2, ATACS FG or Kryptek Mandrake. Multicam is not a universal end all camo, despite what people think.

In the winter, dirty your cammies up a bit with local soil. It will help immensely. If it's snowy, just get a white or white with specks of green smock to wear. You can find surplus military ones for cheap.

But I do think multicam is a safe choice I you dot have a lot of money to put into multiple loadouts and you play in a large variety of areas, like i do.

But if you have one overwhelming environment, go specific like this good sir says, absolutely.

I you already have MC gear, go with multicam.

P.S. I'm thinking of trying to make a ghillie-like thing (similar to the ones by tactical concealment) out of my old fake ACU and whatever else I can find. but that's another thread... HAHA I will keep u posted on that!

What brand MC did you get?

 

I got the tru-spec brand. Its real cryemulticam if thats what youre asking

ya but its an acu. I will probably use the belt I use for my drop leg holster to keep the sides of the uniform from going out like that (the uniforms a little big). thanks for the advice.
