It could potentially make about 5-15 FPS difference, I think the main use is its just a lot more durable.

 

Upgraded air nozzles in theory should give a tighter air seal,,,thus giving a greater muzzle velocity,,ive never used one so for me its just theory,,,but a sound one at that.

 

If you're going to get a new nozzle, get one with an o-ring inside.

The compression loss in a non-o ring nozzle could cost you as much as 25 FPS.

 

I've heard good things about guarder air nozzles, they have O-rings in them.

 

Well thanks for the info guys. The reason i ask is because i got a new metal air nozzle with an o-ring and when i put it up agenst the factory one its alittle taller and this is causes a prob cause it wont go back far enuff to enguage a bb. So i was thinking either cutting it down or just scrapping it and go back to the plastic one with no o-ring.

 

You can file it back. Just make sure you don't leave any sharp edges and you make it the exact same size as the original one.

 

Sounds to me like they gave you an SR-25 nozzle.

It feeds the bbs with no problem (so far). Im thinking that maybe it was for an m249 mk1 or the m249 mk2 type saws not for the para but idk.

 

One thing you can do is wrap teflon tape around the base of the air nozzle. That would be about as effective as a new nozzle. It blocks all the air from escaping out the back. I would seriously suggest that over buying a new air nozzle.

 

try the air seal nozzle by CA. been using it for years and so far its very reliable.

That's why you can put teflon tape behind the nozzle and it won't let air escape. It's better than buying a nozzle that will cost money, tape is virtually free. Granted 10-15 dollars isn't much but coupled with shipping thats over 20 bucks more than simply sealing the back of the nozzle reducing air leaks for free.
