It is true that many airsofters are/were boyscouts?

That's the first time I have ever heard that. Nope never been a boyscout and to old to start now lol.

I know a few boy scouts who are also into airsoft, and I'd say percentagewise, yes, it's true, but I don't think there's an enormous correlation. I myself am not.

 

I left as an Eagle Scout. I didn't really enjoy it very much, but at least I have one more thing on my resume I suppose...

They also could have kicked me out too, since I think I'm bisexual instead of heterosexual. I've kept quiet about this with the people I know in real life. And don't even get me started about them and religion...

 

There's some other guys in my troop that play airsoft.

If you're working on Eagle rank now, don't wait until the last couple of months before age 18 to get stuff straightened out like I did, it turns into a real nightmare.

 

I was a scout but my dad got sick of the cursing and sexual content that poured out of the scouts/scoutmasters mouths every 5 seconds or so. Yeah, my troop was really bad.
But almost all of them had something to do with airsoft. From "Yeah I have a few, but I don't know what they are. They usually break alot" to "Highly upgraded TM RIS M4...blahblahblah."

I left right around First Class.

And then there was this little twit who was obsessed with raping a playboy.....

I've never been in any of these groups but I think it's more likely that out-doors types are more inclined to join the scouts and play airsoft than it is to say boy scouts are more inclined to play airsoft. So there may be a relation, but it's not direct.

I was a webelos.

 

One of my guys got his Eagle Scout a few years ago. Back at Lenix we hosted 20 Boy Scouts at a game. They became regulars for 2007, and a few event got to test their first aid out there LOL.

 

Never been a boyscout, I dont plan on being one either, not my thing really.

Good to hear stuff like this, i am currently a life and I about to go into the process, but im only 14.

I have about 5 friends that play Airsoft that are boy scouts/ eagle scouts

 

I was a tiger I think but my parents got divorced and it fell on my dads day so he made me quit... I liked the pine wood derby tho

 

Anyone been to Camp Hale? I went there ... 2 years ago... (Yeah, it's been that long since I quit scouts) and it was SO much fun.

A few people in my troop play or care about it, but I'd say the civil air patrol is more of airsofters. I don't know a single one of them that don't airsoft.
Proud member of the OA, even though I got in a month or two ago...

 

I was never a boyscout or anything like that. I did come from an outdoors-y family. Gimme a knife and I can live in the wild no prob. But anyone of my friends who has never played and tried just simply shooting off a few rounds with my gun, are immediately hooked wanting their own. I just think airsoft has the ultimate toys that everyone wants no matter your back ground or raising. fyi - smokers, don't play while your trying to quit. Really bad results.

What is your experience of venture scouting? I'm going on Philmont in a year so I'll be part of a crew, if that's how it works..... Can't remember.
