I think I was wrong when I said it looks like a sight will mount to the gun. I think the slots cut above the barrel is actually made for a rail adapter, and you would probably need the rail adapter to mount a sight to the gun.

The rail under the barrel is for mounting flashlights or lasers. If the top rail is the same width as the bottom rail, you should be able to mount a scope or red dot. I did a quick image search on Google for Dessert Eagle with scope and it appears no adaptors are needed.

I have one so I will test if you can put a sight on it and let you know in a few hours ;-)

Ok so yes it is the same size as RIS rail however the slots are in a funny place so you could put a scope with ring mounts but I do not think you can put a red dot on it unless you grind a new slot.

would i be able to mount this on and then put a red dot sight?

The pins would need to fit into these grooves or you would need to file/cut new ones.

Ring mounts for like a big scope would work as they are just one pin but I was not able to fit any of my other optics or rails on it they way it is now.

but if you just file some new grooves it is possible.

The other thing to consider is the top cover is not very secure. I have had mine come off in game before so putting an optic on it might be risky.

Will it fit on the under rail. Or do I have to find a smaller one.:)
