G&P body compatibility

So, before anyone jumps all over me for not using the search bar, I DID, and didn't find the answer I was looking for.

I'm considering putting a G&P metal body (upper and lower receivers) on my SRC. The only issue is, I don't know if they'll be compatible with each other. I ran into the problem of non-conforming parts with the RIS for the SRC (it was either longer or shorter than the usual ones), and I had to get the one made SPECIFICALLY for the SR4.

Has anyone run into any issues with this? Or, a better question would be, is SRC another TM clone? Because if that's the case, it should fit (with some possible modification of course) Thanks to all who view and answer!

I don't think SRC would be considered to be a TM simply because SRC uses a split body design.
Wish I had more info to give you, but I hope that bit of info helps.

it does help a bit. I know they have the split design; I took mine apart when I was 18 and was never able to get it back together because I'm airsoft technical retarded. This is a split design body, the upper and lower are separate pieces, which leads me to believe it would work; I was just wondering if anyone for sure knew. This probably won't be for a little bit, until I get better with the technical aspects of the airsofting experience. Thanks, though, Buster. You're still on my Xmas card list

I'm sure a G&P upper and lower will fit together, heck you can buy them together in one so you know they will fit. Not sure if the SRC's gearbox will fit without modification though. Also, if you ever want to throw Daniel Defense rails on a G&P body you're going to need a different barrel nut that will cost around $20.

Just went through a few posts on other forums, it doesn't look like the SRC lower is compatible with other non-SRC brands.
At least from what I read the G&G, G&P, ICS are not compatible with the SRC. That's not to say you can't modify the parts to make them fit, but I keep seeing those 3 brands do not work well with SRC.

Again this is what I've read, I have ZERO first hand experience

The SR4's handguard is longer than most other brands (or shorter, I can't remember) either way, it's not to standard, so you have to get the SRC RIS. Inconvenient, but not a huge deal. I'm just going to use the standard hardware and keep the plastic D-Ring.

Ouch... well that's unfortunate... before I spend $100+ I wanted to be sure it'll fit... I'll look around some more. Thanks everyone

Sorry for thread hijacking but will a G&P body fit with a king arms gearbox?
I tried KA GB in a Best Gun MRP kit, CA Sportline, JG body and didn't encountered any problem. But haven't in G&P. But since most of them is almost same as G&P, i think it will have no major issue fitting one.
