Im trying to decide, should I get an m4 or a p90? I have a budget of about $180. I need YOUR help!

With a budget of $190, p90 for sure. Pick up an echo1 e90 with an extra battery, some extra mags, and some bbs.

Airsoft p90s have a much better design than airsoft ars. Trust me. The p90, on average, will last longer and preform better for your price range.

I have both and prefer the M4. Why? Magazines. Sure the p90 is lighter, more comfortable, and better for CQB, but it's a pain when the hicap mags jam or when, using low-caps, it's time for a mag change. Other than that the only problem I have with the p90 is the trigger bar. The way it's designed, it will sometimes double fire even when the selector is set on semi. And this is a TM too, not some no name copy. Do I use them both? Yes. Do I like them both? Yes. But if I had to choose one, it would be the M4.

The only P90 weapons worth getting in that range would be the JG/Kart/KS, Echo, and CA P90
King Arms has a P90 coming out, but because it's brand new there's very little info on it.

In terms of the M4, there are too many to really name off, but in terms of brands, check out JG, Dboys, G&G Proline, and Echo.

If you're a beginner, I'd suggest you an M4 over the P90. It's alot easier to handle and to get familiar with. And for CQB you can always buy a stubby type M4, theres many on the market.

The cheaper P-90's tend to fail after about 10,000-20,000 rounds. If not... The trigger switch or something is going to kill itself like the cheap AUG's. Cheaper M4's (JG) can last about 30,000 rounds plus if taken care of.

If you're looking to customize the P-90 there isn't much. M4 types have endless possibilities.

As for mags, the P-90's high caps are a pain. Get yourself a Box mag if you're getting one.
M4's, you'll be fine with high caps and you buy drums and box mags as well.

In the end it's all personal preference. P-90 will be a little more expensive route. Getting a M4 will give you some head room to buy more mags and batteries.

Good luck though man. Ttyl

if you like to upgrade, p90 is the easiest to take apart and work on. it does have some issues but you learn really quickly how to fix them. the main problem with p90's are the hi-caps. i haven't been able to fix the feeding issues on them yet, but i think it's related to the horizontal position of the mag. it may need a stronger spring to push the bb's reliably into the feeding gear. not sure where to get a stronger spring other than using a real steel p90 mag spring.

p90 boxmag m4 mag adapter works really well. if you like high ROF, the box mag itself holds over 1k rnds and whatever m4 hi-cap you use with it.
