*disclaimer: I don't know what I'm doing, I'm just making a WIP thread so that I don't have to keep making threads for different guns.

I'll be editing this in a bit and adding my current build.

Yeah, so evidently if you leave a post alone long enough, you can't edit it. Oh well. Anyways, traded my Fal, so that's one less project on my hands. Currently have my SOB1 and E90 Terminator in parts on the proverbial workbench. SOB1 was just for general maintenance/electrical upgrades, and the E90 started out as a piston swap... Then this happened...

First time I've seen an XYT arl do that . I'll be replacing it either with a Lonex v6 arl, or a ZCI v2/3 arl.

Swapped an XYT v2 ARL into the P90. It appears to work, despite being slightly longer (using the original spring). I'll test it a bit more to make sure it actually works.

Edit: it appears to work perfectly. Found out that my last Nimh battery is dying, so I'll be picking up some high discharge lipos soon.

After two years of searching, I finally found it .

AK Ambi-Charging Handle
Hopefully it's the same OEM as the one that broke on my bro's E1 RedStar OCW. Kinda annoyed with Tiger111HK's checkout... Had to make an account first, which required a suspicious amount of personal info, only to have it finally allow use of PayPal. Sheesh. Should get here in about 2 weeks.

Currently working on upgrading/tuning my own personal E1 SOB1.

Previously finished 'fabricating' a replacement rear sling loop (one of this model's 2 weaknesses). I don't think I'm gonna paint it.

This happened... Not sure how or when, as the gun functioned perfectly prior to disassembly:

Got the new stuff in yesterday. Still need a few things, but this'll do for now.

Stock (polished) cylinder/head:

ZCI cylinder, Lonex v2 cylinder head, Cyma FMR piston, SHS trigger contacts.

-SHS contacts required some fitting. Really happy with that solder joint though... Ugly, but I can jerk it around, and the only thing that moves is the contact. Flux really bloody helps .
-Lonex cylinder head was a really tight fit in the ZCI cylinder, but I got it in with some SuperLube. I don't think I'll get any leaks there any time soon.

Just need to finish installing the Tactical Nuke, everything else will have to wait till it gets back in stock.

i really like this mp5 man not alotta people use em. theyre a ***** to shim bc the big lower
Yeah, since it's long since discontinued, I hope to never sell it. Always loved the look. Shimming MP5's actually isn't bad. Using the half shell method, you can catch a glimpse of the bevel/pinion contact, almost shim/set motor height accordingly from there.

Finally finishing up my Tactical Nuke install on my SOB1. Decided that, for now, I'm gonna store the fet in the buffer tube. I'm in a bit of a rush (game on Sunday, and I work all day Saturday, so running out of time kek), so hopefully I wire everything right and don't get the polarity backwards or anything stupid like that, XP.

Still waiting for the battery and air-nozzle for this lol. Did get in my new goggles, so that was a relief. Definitely preferable to my previous 'solutions'. Only concern is longevity, but it's ANSI rated, so we'll see.

Welp, got the air-nozzle in. Thank goodness, it was the right length [emoji28].

Sad face, the battery didn't get here. Looks like I'll be trying to power this up with an old 9.6 1600 mAh Nimh. Might have to switch back to the stock gears/bearings and swap out the stock 22tpa HT with a 16tpa HT... Will see.

I'll upload more wiring pics in a bit, barring my tortilla imploding.

I appear to have run into a second compatibility issue with the V2 SHS contacts. Back of the shuttle appears slightly offspec. Couldn't have happened at a worse time...I needed this build done yesterday (literally, not figuratively). Bad day bad day bad day!!!
I use to like SHS but I have not had good results with all of their products nor lonex.
SHS ver 3 tappet plate was just a few mm longer than my OEM by JG which caused gearbox problems I believed.
The lonex 70 degrees bucking I have always not liked, I have owed 2 or 3 and they just don't work right.

Shs does make good motors, I love their motors, along with pistons.

Yeah, I've elected to replace the contacts themselves... Couldn't get the SHS contacts to work.

The 70d is pretty popular... How did they not work right?

And.... SHS pistons have had a few bad batches recently, so it's a bit touch and go currently, unfortunately.

Just curious, what motor is in this SOB1?

Added a new lady to the collection:

Disclaimer, I wasn't the one who took the picture. Glad to finally have completed my E1 SOB collection. There's a few things that'll likely need some work though:
-Piston is cocked all the way back...so that's fun. May end up needing a new spring.
-Deans connector needs new heat shrink on one of the wires
-fuse needs to go [This one's for you, BoogerMC lolz]
-Needs an o-ring airnozzle... can't stand the look of the stock one
-Need to get a battery for her...So that'll be struggle to find a big enough one that's small enough, kek
-Need to source a new lower, one of the pin holes has some damage that annoys me
-Need to clean out inner barrel BAD
-new nub?

Planning to upgrade the externals a bit:
-MFT Minimalist Stock, either in black, grey, or OD
-PTS Battlecomp 1.0 or 2.0, ccw
-Stubby foregrip, likely Magpul, black, grey, or OD
-Magpuls in black, grey, or OD
-Some sort of sights... considering a red dot, or maybe some MP7 iron sights
-Maybe a dummy peq? Might be able to fit a big enough lipo inside her

Thoughts? Questions? Comments, concerns? LMK.

Comments in bold
Ha! lol
Actually, mainly getting rid of it due to it being a mini cylindrical fuse. If it was a blade fuse I'd leave it. Biggest problem right now... all my tools are back home...

On a different note, is tagging a thing on here now?
Yeah, kind of.

#23 ·
You do know you can replace glass fuses with spade fuses, the minis use the same connectors as motor connectors. Either that, or you can do as I've done in the past, use a resettable fuse and direct solder the wires to the fuse. If you can find them, Bussmann makes them, they call them circuit breakers, but they're the same thing. You want part number BC/CB211-30-RP, this is a 30 amp fuse, if you want a smaller amperage, replace the 30 with whatever amps you want and I think that will get you a different amperage fuse.

Yup, been considering it... But at the same time, I've never needed a fuse... so...
Also not sure if 30 amps is enough, given that I'm considering making this into a slow DSG. I'd definitely want a fuse with minimal resistance...not sure how good resettable ones are in that aspect. I was considering those however.

BOA_SP3CT3R :
So if I tag you like this, you get a notification? As far as your comments in bold:
-Yes, it's kinda a joke. I advocate typically removing the stock fuse, while BoogerMC advocates strongly to always have a fuse, period.
-It's one of those nasty clear poly ones that has about 1mm of room for air to leak through lolz. With a barrel this short, any airleak is catastrophic.
-Sort of. Wiring goes to the front handguard, but the battery is supposed to sit above the gearbox in the gas tube. Which means that I can easily move the wiring a bit to allow use of a dummy PEQ box.
-I loathe c-clamping:p
-Likewise a fan.

I'm using one of those fuses in a project I'm revisiting, it has always served well in the past. I just ran a quick conductivity test with my multimeter on a new one I use for testing and got a reading of 0.02 ohms. I'd say that's rather low resistance.

#28 ·
I might do a slow DSG in one of my guns. Yeah, If I say @BOA_STICKERS my friend will get an alert. You can change it in your settings.

Cause that's his username(and callsign in the team BOA, I'm the only one who got away with a cool callsign;)). Just add @ before a username.

soz for repost but to claify

read description here....

http://www.clandestineairsoft.com/s...hs-aluminum-mp5-oring-nozzle-1781mm-p-23.html

Use the reg SHS M4 21.45/21.50mm but you need to either widen the Galaxy hop entry a little or sand/reduce the SHS M4 nozzle's shoulder as it is a bit tight
The Galaxy MP5k is a qwirky one that doesn't like the usual nozzles
as they are too short so lose loads of fps
M4 one works but needs a tweak

It is that cheapo Galaxy MP5k that uses a 21.4 type nozzle
as opposed to the usual/shorter nozzles in most other MP5k's

If you are using a stock tube adapter - perhaps drill out a hole,
fit a M4 stubby fixed stock and screw fumbling with limited stick lipo's
(just my thoughts coz I hate the battery)

#38 ·
It uses a Lonex MP5K nozzle if I remember correctly, I think maybe Brill sells it, he has the length of every nozzle in the specs. Also, AK stock is the way to go on an MP5K. :D

#41 ·
A standard MP5K nozzle should work then, that's what I'm using in my MP5K and it's shooting quite consistently, it's just got abysmal compression efficiency. :D
